Come join us to learn the art of wood-fired, Texas-style BBQ cooking. Over the course of 2.5 hours, our expert pit-masters will guide you through the process of creating mouth-watering, smoky BBQ that will have your friends and family begging for more.


You'll learn the ins and outs of selecting the perfect cuts of meat, how to prep, as well as the proper techniques for smoking to achieve the perfect texture and smoky flavor. And to keep you fueled throughout the class, we'll be serving fresh-off-the-smoker BBQ for you to enjoy.


By the end of the class, you'll have all the skills and knowledge you need to impress at your next BBQ gathering. So grab your apron & tickets and let's get smokin!

Started by Amanda & Jared Leonard 4 years ago, this hot spot was a transplant of their original BBQ joint, Rub’s Backcountry Smokehouse; where they served award-winning BBQ and taught classes to thousands of BBQ enthusiasts over the 8 years they operated in Chicago. In his love for all things wood-fired, Jared sought to invite Colorado to experience his same passion when their family moved to Colorado in 2017. He has opened several wood-fired concepts throughout Denver and in Evergreen, and now is turning his focus towards teaching others how to become masters of slow-cooking with wood.


Come learn the most delicious and successful ways to slow-cook Texas Style BBQ from the award-winning Pitmaster Jared Leonard. This class is for the novice, the enthusiast and the trained chef; as well as the BBQ competitor. Be fully immersed into the world of BBQ as we teach you the techniques of slow-cooking in various smokers, meat preparation & sourcing, rubs, sauces, and the secrets of making BBQ in the backyard, for the judges and for thousands! Guests eat throughout this timeframe, enjoying ribs, brisket, pork and scratch made sides for the entire 2.5 hours. This experience is hands-on. Come prepared to trim a brisket, if you'd like, prep a pork shoulder, or simply walk away full of delicious smoked BBQ and the recipes to do it all at home.
